Hi!! My name is Eric Hines, Jr. (he/him) and I am the Senior Resident Director (SRD) for both Martinez Commons (MMC) and Channing Bowditch (CB)! I have worked here at Cal for three years now, having the experiences of working specifically with transfer students, queer and trans students (UNITY Theme Community), and first-year and upper-division students. Prior to this, I worked as a Residence Hall Coordinator at San Diego State University (which was my introduction to California). I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Illinois Springfield. After completing my bachelors, I moved from the corn fields to the mountain to complete a master’s degree in Educational Leadership & Policy from the University of Utah. In my freetime, I enjoy spending time with my partner, Jesus, and our pets, Apollo (dog), Ares and Athena (cats). Yes, we do have a theme going on. No, we do not know much about Greek mythology (lol). In addition, I enjoy trying new restaurants, hiking, going to the gym, traveling, watching movies, and most things pop-culture.
