A resident assistant (RA) is a student leader who resides in the residential hall to support and guide other students living on campus. RAs are responsible for fostering a positive living environment, following up with residents when violations of university policies occur, and providing assistance to residents in navigating campus resources.
Our hall staff live in the same residence halls and they engage with our residential students through one on one, small group and large group interactions. They often organize social and educational activities to promote a sense of community within the residential community. We encourage residents to use their RA as their go-to starting point for any questions or concerns they have about their experiences here at UC Berkeley.
If you are interested in becoming an RA for next academic year, please visit the Student Employment Opportunities page to learn more! The process begins in late fall semester, so keep an eye out for announcements.
